@anon1, it is probably a porous substance for the edge that is resistant to the corrosive effects of the acid so that it is always wet like it is sweating the acid but not so much that it drips. That's my idea at least.

my idea was that all of geas blade were chemical contained inside some sort of force field shaped to blades and that when the blade slices it it loses the edge letting the chemicals disperse. not pretty but it would be almost insta kill.

Anon3 - Blue Steel used High Test Peroxide (nearly pure hydrogen peroxide), not hydrochloric acid. HCl is not used as oxygenator, so it's useless as a rocket fuel.
