actually the reason is that xbox doesnt have as many titles in japanese, which the ps2 have, and a lot it has... rpg's etc

The reason is because Sony is a Japanese company. That gives them a massive edge in the Japanese consumer market. Microsoft never really tried to understand how best to market products in Japan until they released Windows 7. Besides the XBox 360 is notorious for it's "Red Ring Of Death". Sony has no such negative stigma for their consoles. The lack of interest from Japanese developers further alienates the 360 from the Japanese market.
