for me it looks like an epic fail anime, seems more like an american cartoon from CN, not anime style, it sucks.

it's pretty cool but the cn style takes some getting some getting used to, other than that it's you're typical gainax anime, although i haven't found any super deep complicated philosophical thought behind it yet...
