Have you played the Wii version? They made it that way to support the players who were right-handed. The artist reflects upon this in his art.

*sigh* They could have at least made the controls(and camera stuff)interchangeable(to switch between the two) to accommodate both lefties(like myself) AND right-handers, instead of just making it ONLY right-handed.
