I need to do this to the CRT's still left in use at my jorb. <_< I work IT... And yes, we still have /plenty/ of CRT's still in everyday use.

Side note: I loved the IT/Computer jokes from the manga...

Why do they still use CRT's!?!?!? Do they think that they live in the last millenium!?

...

A high-end CRT is vastly superior to any current form of LCD.

Really, any normal-end CRT, even if very used, beats any LCD (in all areas except clarity).

Anyway here's cons/problems for both LCDs and CRTs...

LCD:

> A slow 'refresh' (the ms)
> Limited to 60hz (most of them)
> Input lag (!!)
> Dead pixels often to be expected
> Backlightbleed is definitely to be expected
> Other forms of light and/or color bleeding to be expected
> Color shifting (even on non-TN displays) and/or desaturation or loss of contrast on angle deviation from dead center
> White/grey glow (sometimes called IPS-glow, but appears on almost all LCDs)
> Black is never black... and other colors are too bright
> Non-native resolutions look horrible... or, at best; worse than native
> Strange anti-glare coatings + other problems

CRT:

> Loses clarity and focus over time

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pros for both LCDs and CRTs...
LCD:
> Usually have perfect clarity and focus, which does not decrease over time
CRT:
> No input lag
> Instant refresh, due to it being tied to the hz
> Colors and contrast is normal
> Black is black (if you display a pure black image at fullscreen, it may be difficult to tell that the CRT is even on)
> Freedom of resolution changing, and customization, togther with hz
