I still don't get how in the world could she remodel herself to gain that kind of ability. Even less if its supposed to be a Minus. I mean, how does her eternal pursuit for unhappiness translates into manipulating fire and ice? Makes no sense.

Her abnormality/plus is body modification, i.e., totally boss mad science shit. She does that to herself to gain a minus, which is something that is influenced by personality and environment (according to Naze herself), in this case, a power that allows her to adapt to her circumstances(the freezing room and the enemy minus) . Her pursuit of unhappiness has nothing to do with it.
