AR15s (especially full length ones), really don't recoil much at all, it'll probably just bump her.

I am pretty sure this is a reference to a manga where the author drew one of her characters holding a rifle like this. She got much mail from people pointing out how this was incorrect, so of course what she did was to buy a very expensive airsoft rifle and have pictures taken where she holds it with the stock over the shoulder, to prove that she was right. Considering how tiny she is and how big the gun was, it looked pretty comical.
