Kinda hard when you are making a break for it when it is carrying a pair of death ray busters. They aren't fast enough to get away now that he no longer is at the mercy of charge time and mobility issues.

I mean, seriously, while a redhead mecha with hair (ok, those are likely cables, but the result is the same) dramatically flowing in the space wind looks cool, that'd be one of the least practical enginnering choices ever
