Well...yeah. LINK was fucking shit. Shit gameplay, shit story, shit character designs, shit music, shit shit shit. Everything about it was shit. The whole ordeal was so shit that it sent the entire series into hiatus for years, and it spiralled down, down, down until it was on life support. Now the only life in this whole franchise is an HD remaster of a decade old game.

All of this because LINK was that fucking terrible.

Don't forget the mess that was quantum...though if you ask me, Last Recode was great. If for not for giving the G.U. games the quadrilogy it deserved, then for finally giving closure.
