I was always amused how some Americans I knew when I lived there, used to make fun of foreign cultures like Japan using wacky TV shows as an example of how weird they were...and then they would tune into the high culture TV that is Keeping Up with the Kardashians or Teen Mom.

I love your comment anon2079768! The best thing about "reality TV" shows: the moment someone starts talking about one, is the moment you know you they are an idiot unworthy of your time. Sometimes it can be hard to tell, so its nice to have a device that let's you know right away, rather than giving them the benefit of doubt.
